Ok, so yesterday was interesting.

Morning in cambridge - it was my interview(s).. They went pretty well actually, first one was about mosquitoes and some ecology stuff… the second was really good - and we talked about a book I’ve just read, and some biochemistry <3 *win*. Nothing wrong with being positive, but we shall see how it really went in the new year.

Got back in time for the snow ball… which was an overall interesting experience. Mixed feelings about it to be honest… there were highs and lows. I don’t think it was as good as last year and for some reason.. I almost cried at the end. I think the only thing that saved me was that impressive display of coordinated air guitar from the dancing duo that is Sarah and Jack.

A few things:

  • Sometimes those comments hurt, really they do.
  • I wish you’d talked to me properly.
  • I’m sorry.
  • Thank you.
  • I hope you’re ok.

Ok, maybe watching torwood last night was the greatest idea ever… Getting up was even less fun than ever…

Got to school, did some physics… mm capacitors (don’t try to eat them - or connect them backwards [the electrolytic kind that is]). Maths was very. Biology was usual, heard about a kidney somone had snuck into schorb’s bag… hoho… not funny. And then a wander into town, got hair trimmed (yes I did, if you can’t tell) and then met lou and went wandering to the pinapple. Got two singles, they be very good.. looked for masquerade shope thingy, but didn’t find it… tomorrow! Explained in detail the happenings of the party… Noises included ;P

While relaxing in my 2nd PS of the week, got called to do a tour of the school, which was as I’d expected - showed them things and rambled about the school, they seemed pleased, so I must have done something right. Chemistry to finish the day, thank god Phil wasn’t there - it was so much quieter… Ed the boy Taylor I think not.

Read book on bus, slept a bit. That was it for today. Slurp…

Friday night, yes. It was pretty much what I’d expected it to be, with a few differences (IE, it wasn’t). Saw Mr Hunt and Dawkins in the Orange Tree, they promptly left when we arrived… I don’t normally have that effect on people, so I guess it was the company. Trawled around town, bought a large amount of alcohol at Tesco, sat in bar europa. Chris’ hair was all the more impressive when laced with glow sticks (see me for video), which is always good to see. Went to the phantom… sat there… and then went back to James’ house.

The whole group ended up split into two rooms, one half shouting and drinking alco-pops… the rest of us (3) sat in a different room, being quiet and looking depressed… (I’m the exception here) but yes… it has it’s merrits. Dod’s drank a whole bottle of vodka, and did various amusing things (all of which can be seen on my phone) and others did similar. I got to sleep around… 4 o’clock after nursing all the drunks back to sleep and helping them empty their stomach contents, cleaning up the house, washing the dishes and various nice things I do when everyone else is really drunk.

Got up at… 7, couldn’t stand any more of the slurping noises coming from jake’s corner of the room and went to make some breakfast. Bacon and eggs all round… then went home and slept for the rest of the day.

Nothing much happened today, except I got a much needed preamp for my turn-table which means I now have lovely lovely vinyl playing my room… hurrah.

Farewell, xxx

Ok. I’ll start from this time last week:

Wednesday: Spent the day in york, visiting the uni. Journey up there was horrible, train delays and more. Saw Paul, although briefly it may have been, he is ever so friendly and helpful! Thanks paul ^^! Open day was quite fun, saw the place, smelled the lake, talked to the people. For some reason, it was all girls but me in the tour group… oh well!

Thursday: Usual school based day, nothing huugely exciting… General studies on thursday involved Sam making up quiz questions and people shouting out strange words as their buzzers. “Ray’s going to hell” being one of the most prominent. Remember kids, save your soul… buy a world aids day ribbon!

Friday: Nothing much happened during the day, a bit of wandering about… Spent the evening in ’spoons in harborough. Emma was back from uni for the weekend, saw alex and martyn again - it’s been a while! Then someone called Arnold appeared and started giving people money to buy drinks for him… I came back with £3 more than I’d started with… how strange.

Saturday: Shopping for clothes in town, met emma in town for a bit and did more shopping. Had a chocolate orange milkshake from the milkshake bar, incredible. Their blenders can actually blend golfballs! (check, it’s on youtube). Saw a play at the end of the day, Heather was back from uni so she was there too. Twas quite fun, a play about putting on a play!

Sunday: Sat at home, worked!

Monday: The start of the week… Biology coursework, blarg! But finished skill C.

Tuesday: Met one very tired looking Hetty walking from the carpark, the lost prophets gig was aparently very sweaty :P Turin brakes gig with nikko in the evening, had to wait outside in the freezing cold for 40 minutes!! When the doors finally opened, my ticket wasn’t on the door… so the big scary bouncer took a lot of persuasion before he let me in.. Which he did thankfully. Band was really good, songs were good… It was extremely hot. Once again, I experience the concrete convection oven that is the charlotte on a busy night.

Wednesday: Messing with toxic chemicals in chemistry was fun, and then some fixing of boats to end the day. Now I sit here, with my guitar - bliss :P

It’s the start of the half term, but strangely the end of something too.

I got home and found out that a good friend of the familly, someone I’ve known and visited for all of my life died during the week, and was found in her room on friday afternoon. It seems strange that we won’t be going to visit her again, and I won’t be mowing her lawn or helping again… I suppose everything that has a beginning has an end, nomatter what. We’re organising the funeral, but I don’t think it’s hit me that she’s actually gone.

So I’ll take this moment to remember her, for what she gave to my life.

Most people are out in loughborough tonight, but  I don’t feel really feel like it, I think I’ll play my piano for a bit. Atleast I’ll be able to remember her whenever I do, because she was one of the ones who bought it for me.

Thank you Kathleen, and goodbye.

I’m sure you’d all like to see a huge rant from me. Here it is:

Meh… I’ve got better things to do.

Been listening to Sigur Ros for most of the evening. It’s the end of another week already, time flies (regardless). Uni app is basically done, I’ve chosen where I want to go, and my statement will be in on monday… soo I can finally relax a bit more I hope.

Yus, things are good generally.

I don’t know how much longer I can put up with my form tutor, he’s driving me crazy. I was trying to have a decent conversation about uni with him this morning, and he just kept on wandering off… talking to other people. In the end I just gave up and started walking around the school trying to think things through.

In some ways I’m glad he was like this, because if he had spoken to me what happened next wouldn’t have.

As I rounded the corner towards the maths block, I bumped into someone who has changed my academic life considerably this year, and probably my early life at the school in a different way. Strange what a different person I see them as now, to when I first had the misfortune of meeting them in year 8.

Last time we met like that 5 years ago, I was standing in the bus park, covered from head to toe in foam. (an unfortunate occurance - maybe more on it later). Last time, they called me a discrace. Words which clung with me for a long time. This time I saw a very different person, they gave me some of the best advice I’ve ever been given - and they definitely changed my mine completely… Isn’t it interesting how things change.

The rest of the day wasn’t bad, sailing was fun.

What have I been up to lately? Well… lots of music, plenty of reading (currently addicted to a series by Ian Irvine). That sums up most of it. Apart from maybe a spectacular camping trip which I don’t think I could fully describe in words.

Finally, I shall end with a quote:

“I am pleased to inform you that two thermo-nuclear missiles are now headed this way… if you don’t mind, I am going to take action”

In the words of Ph, the first one to guess what it is wins a MARS BAR.
