Take Me Away

I don’t know how much longer I can put up with my form tutor, he’s driving me crazy. I was trying to have a decent conversation about uni with him this morning, and he just kept on wandering off… talking to other people. In the end I just gave up and started walking around the school trying to think things through.

In some ways I’m glad he was like this, because if he had spoken to me what happened next wouldn’t have.

As I rounded the corner towards the maths block, I bumped into someone who has changed my academic life considerably this year, and probably my early life at the school in a different way. Strange what a different person I see them as now, to when I first had the misfortune of meeting them in year 8.

Last time we met like that 5 years ago, I was standing in the bus park, covered from head to toe in foam. (an unfortunate occurance – maybe more on it later). Last time, they called me a discrace. Words which clung with me for a long time. This time I saw a very different person, they gave me some of the best advice I’ve ever been given – and they definitely changed my mine completely… Isn’t it interesting how things change.

The rest of the day wasn’t bad, sailing was fun.

What have I been up to lately? Well… lots of music, plenty of reading (currently addicted to a series by Ian Irvine). That sums up most of it. Apart from maybe a spectacular camping trip which I don’t think I could fully describe in words.

Finally, I shall end with a quote:

“I am pleased to inform you that two thermo-nuclear missiles are now headed this way… if you don’t mind, I am going to take action”

In the words of Ph, the first one to guess what it is wins a MARS BAR.

Ian Irvine! His ‘view from the mirror’ quartet was the only longwinded fantasy thing I’ve ever read properly. Tis good stuff.

Ooh view from the mirror! That’s the preceeding set of novels, you will have to read this quartet! Tis great :D

Set on santhenar, couple of hundred years in the future from the old books. *win*

…I don’t think that really constitutes a ‘win’.

I’m not convinced it is marvin “the little robot dude”. He would go something like “we’re going to die, great, I always thought this would happen”. Only Eddie would actually take action (or know how to), and only eddie would be pleased to inform them. Can I have my mars bar please?

Also I agree – that’s a personal preference not a win. *disqualifies Ed*
